About the Foundation

In 2005 a Steering Committee of thirteen assembled to form
The Prior Lake Savage Area Educational Foundation.
It was founded with the following objectives:

The mission of the Prior Lake-Savage Area Educational Foundation is to encourage creativity, innovation and excellence by raising, managing and allocating financial resources to enhance learning for all who reside in or are served by the ISD719 community.

What is an Educational Foundation?

An educational foundation can serve many purposes, but the general intent is to provide funding for activities that are beyond the scope of traditionally supported school district activities. A community based committee solicits donations, manages those funds and disburses them usually through a granting process. It is important for the non-profit foundation be a separate entity from the school district it serves.
